Why Götzis
From yarn market to business quarter
Götzis carries its economic history in its name: as early as 1694 the town received market rights for flax and yarn. On the former grounds of the textile company Huber Tricot, founded in 1908, the Am Garnmarkt quarter has emerged. According to its operator, it is now home to roughly 110 companies with about 750 employees and 274 apartments. Connected to the A14 Rhine Valley motorway and the Lindau-Bludenz railway, the market town sits centrally within the Rhine Valley.

AI expertise next door in the Rhine Valley
Götzis's link to AI lies in its region: just a few kilometres away in Dornbirn, the Digital Factory Vorarlberg operates as an inter-company research centre run by AIT, FH Vorarlberg and the State of Vorarlberg, with data science and artificial intelligence among its research fields. Complementing this, the Digital Campus Vorarlberg bundles, by its own account, over 100 courses, including AI offerings for career changers through to executives. An AI event here thus meets a dense regional digital ecosystem.

Kulturbühne AMBACH as the stage
The host of ahead x city is the Kulturbühne AMBACH at Am Bach 10 in Götzis, described by the market town as the cultural heart of the region. The venue stages concerts of all kinds, operas, cabaret, musicals and children's and youth theatre, and offers several event spaces. In this established cultural venue, two editions of ahead x city have already taken place according to the organiser, reaching around 223 and 342 guests and bringing AI topics into the region.
