Why Bludenz
Chocolate City and Economic Hub of the Five Valleys
Bludenz is the district capital and, per the city, the economic and service centre for a catchment area of roughly 62,477 residents and about 40,000 guest beds in the surrounding valleys. The Milka chocolate works defines it: per the City of Bludenz, operating since 1887, with over 300 employees, around one million bars a day and exports to 34 countries – Mondelēz International's third-largest chocolate plant.
AI Research in the Vorarlberg Region
The AI connection comes through the region: FH Vorarlberg is among Austria's research-active universities of applied sciences. In the COIN project "SimLearn" of its User Centred Technologies research centre, per FHV, it explores artificial intelligence as a learning partner – with AI-optimised simulation, adaptively generated learning content and data-driven, real-time learning support. This anchors ahead x city's AI themes credibly in the regional science environment around Bludenz.

The Remise – Cultural Centre in the Heart of the Alpine City
ahead x city takes place at the Remise Bludenz, Raiffeisenplatz 1 – the cultural centre "in the heart of Bludenz and at the centre of five valleys". Per the organisers, the hall holds around 380 guests at standing concerts and 210 when seated. Run by the City of Bludenz's cultural office and the allerArt association, the Remise's architecture and acoustics regularly host concerts, theatre and festivals such as the ALPINALE short film festival.
