Why Dornbirn
Economic engine in the Rhine Valley
According to the city, Dornbirn is the largest city in Vorarlberg with around 50,000 residents and describes itself as the most important economic centre of the region. Official figures state that roughly 1,800 companies operate within the city. Its central location in the Rhine Valley with excellent transport links makes the site a regional hub between Lake Constance and the Alps. This is exactly where an evening connecting the local economy with future topics fits in.
AI and digitalisation at CAMPUS V
In Dornbirn, FH Vorarlberg is based at CAMPUS V (Hochschulstrasse 1), which the university describes as a hub for business, science and startups. The Digital Factory Vorarlberg operates in the same building; according to its own website its research fields explicitly include data analysis and artificial intelligence, digital manufacturing, IoT and cyber security. This gives Dornbirn a verifiable, local AI and digital link right at the university site - a fitting setting for an AI evening.

ahead x city welcomes, according to the organiser, 45 guests at Sportgymnasium Dornbirn on Hoechsterstrasse 73b. The school combines athletic and academic training and moved into a new site next to HTL Dornbirn in autumn 2023, opened in the presence of the education minister. A modern, young place of learning that fits well with an evening centred on future skills and artificial intelligence.
