Europe is the strategic level on which ahead x is growing. Today the platform is genuinely active in Austria, having started in Vorarlberg, with an ongoing rollout to further federal states. The German-speaking region is the next contiguous sub-area, and further European markets are in preparation. This page honestly explains where ahead x is already taking place and where the expansion is planned, without claiming a Europe-wide coverage that does not yet exist.

2024 · Concept
The idea and concept of aheadx take shape in Asia: research into speakers, AI communication and transferable education formats.
2025 · First edition
On 21 November 2025 the first public ahead x city edition takes place in Götzis. The initiative becomes a repeatable series.
2026 · Rollout
Editions in Bludenz, Feldkirch, Götzis and Hard; ahead x labs launches in Dornbirn. First formats in Tirol, Steiermark and Kärnten.

A single market, a common legal framework in the making
With the EU AI Act, Europe gains for the first time a harmonized legal framework for artificial intelligence, which takes effect in stages from 2024. This creates a concrete, cross-border need for guidance among companies and public administrations, going far beyond technology alone.

Export-strong small and medium-sized businesses across many markets
Across Europe, small and medium-sized enterprises carry the economy. They have concrete AI use cases in production, services and administration, but rarely have large internal AI teams. The need for clear guidance and practical formats is similar in many countries.

Research density across national borders
Europe is a dense AI research landscape with internationally visible locations, such as JKU Linz around Sepp Hochreiter, DFKI in Germany, ETH Zürich and EPFL in Switzerland. This academic substance makes a serious, level-headed AI debate easier.

Skills and competency gap
Across Europe there is a shortage of digital professionals, while the need for AI competency is rising in almost every sector. As part of the Digital Decade, the EU has set itself the goal of significantly increasing the number of ICT specialists by 2030. For companies this means: upskilling their own people becomes as important as the technology itself.

Where is ahead x already active in Europe?
ahead x is currently active in Austria, with its strongest focus in Vorarlberg and an ongoing rollout to further federal states. Additional European markets are in preparation. As soon as dates are fixed, they appear in the tour overview and on the respective country pages.
Does ahead x already cover all of Europe?
No. Europe is the strategic expansion level, not the current coverage. So far, all editions have actually taken place in Austria. The German-speaking region is the next contiguous sub-area, and further markets will follow step by step and only where real events and partners are in place.
Do I need prior knowledge for an ahead event?
At ahead x city, no one needs prior knowledge. The public evenings are built for beginners, skeptics and anyone with an interest. At ahead x labs and ahead x mastermind, advanced individuals, teams or organizations can also be trained.
How will the expansion in Europe continue?
Step by step and honestly. ahead x does not announce any countries, cities or dates before they are confirmed. Alongside Austria, further European markets are in preparation. Anyone who wants to be informed early can subscribe to the newsletter or follow the country pages.
