Why Innsbruck
Tyrol's capital in the heart of Europe
Innsbruck is the capital of Tyrol and, according to the City of Innsbruck, sits "in the heart of Europe" between southern Germany and northern Italy — linked by airport, rail, tram and fibre. It is the administrative, economic and tourism hub of western Austria; per the city, around 900,000 guests visit Innsbruck each year. This position on the north-south axis and a dense mix of sectors from tourism to IT make it a natural meeting point for a cross-regional format like ahead x city.

A university city with a regional AI focus
Founded in 1669, the University of Innsbruck reports around 28,000 students from over 100 countries across 16 faculties (uibk.ac.at); per the city, about 36,000 people study at Innsbruck's universities. The AI link is carried by the region itself: the university's Digital Science Center ran a workshop on AI in organisations at the digital.tirol Impulstag 2026 (19 March 2026, theme "Understanding & using AI"). ahead x city fits this regional digital and AI environment.

The venue: novum Innsbruck Mitte in Pradl
ahead x city takes place at novum Innsbruck Mitte, an event centre in the Pradl district with a central location and good public-transport access. The main hall (247 m²) holds up to 300 people in a standing layout and up to 225 in theatre seating (per novum), plus three daylit seminar rooms with flexible partition walls. Exposed concrete and birch wood define the space. Here 198 guests come together — in the centre of Tyrol's capital.
