Illwerke vkw is the leading energy company in Vorarlberg and has reliably supplied the region with hydropower electricity for generations. The company was formed in 2019 from the merger of Vorarlberger Illwerke and Vorarlberger Kraftwerke and is owned by the state of Vorarlberg.

Under the guiding principle "Energy for generations" it combines generation, grid and sales into a regional full-service provider and is one of the central players in renewable energy in western Austria.

The energy transition is highly driven by digitalisation and skills: grid digitalisation, storage and load management, e-mobility and data platforms bring topics such as future skills, AI and digital transformation directly into the core business.
